Investments in new dairy farm facilities, new technology for milking, milk storing and processing under best farm practices

OVERALL OBJECTIVE:

The global objective of this grant scheme is to support improved access to and competitiveness on the national and international markets for Kosovo's agri-rural goods and services.

BENEFICIARIES:

Target group: Agrojeta LS company, current employed staff, new employees, 25 milk local farm producers; Final beneficiaries: businesses, restaurants in Istog, Klina, Peja, consumers, inhabitants, improved environment etc.

PROJECT PURPOSES:

Aim of the Company: The main objective is to improve the performance of the farm in the production of milk and cheese under the best animal welfare standards and environmental protection.

ACTIVITIES:

-New stable for at least 30 milk cows (100% additional capacity), with animal welfares, 300sqm free-range, height 3m (headlocks, rubber carpets, brushes, drinking troughs, special space for calves, ventilation, manure etc.); -New food storage facility for 60 milk cows – 180sqm (900m3 space); -Innovative milking system 1*4 dairy milking cow with CIP cleaning process; -Increase milking storage capacity for 2500L/daily; purchase 3 milk cooling tanks (2pcs*500L and 1pcs*1500L) and 1 Lacto scan for milk; -New tractor 100 HP with better performances and environmental protection without accompanying equipment; -Construction new facility for in farm production line – 280sqm; -In farm cheese making line for 500L/day milk processing; -10 new employees out of them 5 women; -Installation of 20KW solar electric system;

RESULTS:

-Increase milk production by 100% or 300,000 Litres/yearly; -Increasing collection milk capacity by 70%, or 7000L/day, -Increase cheese production by 250% through processing of 500 Litres/day milk processed to cheese; -10 new employees, etc.
