Modern dairy farm

OVERALL OBJECTIVE:

The global objective of this grant scheme is to support improved access to and competitiveness on the national and international markets for Kosovo's agri-rural goods and services.

BENEFICIARIES:

Target group: Rudina D company owner, current staff employed, new employees, construction companies; Final beneficiaries: consumers, input dealers, processing milk companies, local farmers for producing animal food, tax administration, better environment etc.

PROJECT PURPOSES:

The main objective is to improve the performance of the farm in the production of milk under the best animal welfare standards and environmental protection, and food safety standards.

ACTIVITIES:

Construction of new dairy farm 1600sqm with complete infrastructure and to improve the animal welfare: space bedding for each dairy; -Construction storage for manure capacity 20m*10m*2m; -Construction of food storage (silo for fodder for silage 800MT, -Construction of the Animal food storage barn 20m * 20m * 6m and -Mixer for animal food; -Closed milking system; -Install solar panels; -Prepare documentation and process of contracting with supplying farmers of animal fodder; -Develop for types of topics to be provided through training sessions;

RESULTS:

-New cowshed 1600 sqm; -Totally 200 milk cows; -Increasing milk production to 2,000L/day; -8 contracted farmers for producing animal feed especially corn silage; -10 new employees (FTE); -100% of welfare standards are implemented after Action;
