Improving and increasing Egg production in Kosovo

OVERALL OBJECTIVE:

The global objective of this grant scheme is to support improved access to and competitiveness on the national and international markets for Kosovo's agri-rural goods and services.31

BENEFICIARIES:

Target group: Valbona SH.P.K. Owners, current employees; new employees, construction companies; Finale beneficiaries: egg consumers in Kosovo and EU, Kosovo Poultry sector, Agroindustry of Kosovo, input dealers, meat processing industry, retailers, wholesalers, local tax authorities, mitigation environment pollution etc.

PROJECT PURPOSES:

Intends to increase laying hens’ capacities, qualities, efficiency of eggs production, improving environment, animal welfare, hygiene and food safety standards.

ACTIVITIES:

-Investing in new equipment for increasing capacity, quality, and efficiency of production: Construction of new farm facilities 600sqm metallic construction (9,000 laying hens, eggs collection equipment, ventilation system, automatic removal of manure, automatic feed transportation); -Insulation of existing facilities for energy consumption reduction (lower energy cost); -Investment in bird-rearing equipment for 7,000 bird hens; -Investing in machinery for feed production and storage: 2 silos with capacity 26 MT/each and conveyer to transport feed from silos to the hen’s coopers – reducing labour; -Tractor with accompanying equipment, -Investing in investment for egg product classification and stamping; -Implementing of Hygiene and Food Safety standards and (HACCP) certifications (it is mandatory for export and business linkages (contracting the international market, local retailers, wholesalers, etc.; -Investment in improving environment and animal welfare standards;

RESULTS:

-Increase yearly income by 100%; -After Action implementation 23 new employees -Increase total Sales in 2022 to 320,000 EUR; sharing with 30% to EU market; -Production egg capacity for the year 2022 – 6.5 million eggs; -Additionally, 9,000 laying hens in totally after Action - 20,000 laying hens; -Improved Hygiene of quality standards implemented – HACCP certification – certifications by KFVA exports licences;
