Introducing of new Capacities and Innovative Technology in Livestock Farming, in line with Agriculture Products Required from Internal and External Market

The global objective of this grant scheme is to support improved access to and competitiveness on the national and international markets for Kosovo's agri-rural goods and services.

Target group: Malsia Foods SH.P.K. owner, current staff, new employees, 23 members of cooperative integrated, 75 beef cattle farmers horizontally integrated, construction companies and other suppliers. Finale beneficiaries: consumers, milk processors and meat processors, private business clients (restaurants and markets) etc.
PROJECT PURPOSES:
Intends strengthening the sustainable development of the company and other regional farmers to access in local and regional market through increasing milk capacities, improve animal welfare/standards and improvement cooperation integration and efficiency of primary producers.
ACTIVITIES:
-New Cowshed for 70 new cows’ capacities with free-range system (including complete veterinary room and equipment), (cow rest station, headlocks, rubber carpets, brushes, drinking troughs), animal welfare international standards, including septic tanks; -Advanced milking system 2*3 (6 cows milking at once), including electronically managing the cow milking process; -Milk collecting point for 3,000 L milk/daily (3 milking tanks by 1,000 L and milk analysing equipment for primary production and for in-farm cheese production where; -Prepare animal food 1,500 T/year for supplying local farmers 1.5-2T/hour– purchase and installation of animal feed preparation line for 75 beef/milk farmers everyone with more than 15 Catlles; -Environment-friendly tractors with a front loader, feed mixer for tractors, the trailer for organic manure, the trailer for tractor, 1 baler machine; Solar panels 15 KW;
RESULTS:
-The new cowshed 700 sqm; -Increase production of milk by 140%; -Increasing additionally milk cows to 70; -Increase milk collection for 3,000L/per day which will ensure the 70 local farmers to the consistent delivery of their product (milk); -Milk production to increase by 500,000 L/per year; -Additionally, 24 farmers and in totally 47 farmers become members of the cooperative (horizontal integration)
