PROJECT PURPOSES:

The Framework Partnership Agreement (FPA) supports specifically objectives 1 and 4 of TOKA's Strategic Plan, which are: 1. Strengthen the education and empowerment of youth; 4. Advocate for better youth development and education policies.

BENEFICIARIES:

Adolescent youth (10-17 years old), Youth enablers (teachers, students of education/psychology, social workers) and Public institutions in the field of education (the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation (MESTI); Faculty of Education; The Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sports (MCYS); Municipal departments of education and schools).

ACTIVITIES:

The activities envisaged for Objectives 1 and 4 of the FPA and implemented in the 2022 Annual Work Plan (AWP) are the following: Objective 1: Strengthen the education and empowerment of youth • 1.2.1 Outreach activities across all Kosovo Municipalities to reach disadvantaged youth; working primarily with MESTI, Municipal Education departments and schools directly. • 1.2.2 Develop and implement training programs that accelerate the development of leadership skills in youth, as well as their motivation to be active citizens. Implement volunteering in every project/program; • Train and support the program alumni to progress to youth leadership roles; Objective 4: Advocate for better youth development and education policies • 4.2.1. Develop and accredit by MESTI teachers' training programs based on experiential and Service Learning principles, resulting in increased application of experiential and Service Learning as part of formal education system. • 4.2.2. Invite govt institutions to networking events for youth enablers from KS/region; 4.2.3. Support and lobby MESTI and MCYS to improve their policies for youth dev/ed locally®ionally; participation in Ministry Working Groups that revise Regulations to improve policies in the formal education system; 4.2.4. Leverage regional efforts to improve volunteer sector in KS; expand on TOKA's existing Erasmus + / ESC partnerships with new exchange projects. • 4.2.5 Support Municipality of Pristina in developing and sustain the youth development infrastructure in Germia Park (Germia Recreational Centre); support other municipalities in such endeavours, as relevant; • 4.2.6. Support FE to incorporate experiential/service learning in their curriculum. 4.2.7. Promote experiential education and Super Leaders through intensive social/traditional campaign; extend to regular feature on national TV

RESULTS:

The specific expected results on target group/beneficiaries are as following: Adolescent Youth: Boost their core skills (as required by MESTI's new Curriculum Framework), as well as develop their leadership and social activism skills-thereby resulting in a multiplier effect that benefits their wider community. Youth enablers/Teachers: The capacity building in using experiential education will result in improved overall teaching methodology, both outside and inside the classroom. MEST/FoE: By offering their teachers/trainee teachers new experiential education training/mentoring programs, will improve the achievements results of pupils in the mid-term. MCYS: By improving their strategies/policies for long-term volunteering, they will boost the active citizenship of youth in Kosovo, and corresponding employability due to skills gained in the process.
