PROJECT TITLE:

EU Support for the Implementation of the RAE Strategy phase II – Education for Integration (EU-SIMRAES II - IPA 2014)

OVERALL OBJECTIVE:

The overall objective of the EU-SIMRAES 2 action is to support the Kosovo government in developing democratic and multi-ethnic society by implementing the Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian Strategy and its Action Plan. The Specific objective of the action is to ensure equitable access of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian children to pre-primary, primary and secondary education by improving enrolment, retention and attainment of children through community-based and financial support.

Prizren, Gjakova/Djakovica, Fushe Kosove/Kosovo Polje, Mitrovice/a, Istog/k, Rahovec/Orahovec, Obiliq/c and other municipalities in Kosovo

10 Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities with 8,127 inhabitants / Children aged 5 – in total 154, of them 98 attending the pre-primary education, and 56 not attending / Children aged 6-14 – in total 1,246, of them 1,002 attending compulsory education, and 244 not attending / Parents of school aged children from 10 targeted communities / Teachers from schools serving target communities / Students from schools serving target communities / 200-300 Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian secondary students / Seven civil society organizations / General public in Kosovo
