OVERALL OBJECTIVE:

Overall objective is to contribute to empow women and girls with disabilities and single mothers of children with disabilities to achieve their fundamental right for social protection and inclusion.

PROJECT PURPOSES:

Specific Objectives: 1: Raise awareness across the community and general public that violence against women is a human rights violation and encourage every citizen to challenge it . Specific Objective 2: Promote the implementation of effective measures for preventing and combating violence against women at the national and local level .

ACTIVITIES:

-Mapping of Social Services and Establishing Formal Cooperation with Service Providers- Regional Kick-off Conference and 3 Informative Sessions; - Workshops on Developing Outreach Plans for Facilitating Access to Public and Specialized Services; Provision of Home-based Specialized Services and Mobility Support to Access Public Services; Establishing Joint Monitoring Teams (JMTs) with other Service Providers ; Establishing the network of WGwD and single mothers of ChwD through 8 self-help groups; Organizing and facilitating 48 self-help group meetings with WGwD and single mothers of ChwD,Finalizing 3 Policy Papers on Social Protection, Economic Empowerment and Education; Organize 10 meetings with local and central level authorities to present the Policy Papers;Organize 2 podcasts with disability community and service providers; Awareness and Advocacy Campaigns;

RESULTS:

-Enhanced access of WGwD and single mothers of CwD to public and specialized services. -Increased capacities of WGwD and single mothers of CwD to address and advocate for their rights. -Increased awareness and engagement of public on supporting WGwD and single mothers of CwD -provide home-based services with Mobile Clinic -Percentage of women and girls actively providing recommendations for advocacy actions -increased broadcast of produced materials though local and national media outlets
