OVERALL OBJECTIVE:
To boost and improve access to justice through an informed and educated citizenry, resulting with an increased trust in the justice sector, and enhanced institutional transparency and performance.
PROJECT PURPOSES:
Increasing youth skills and employability in the rule of law sector through capacity building; Increasing general citizens’ knowledge on access to justice through awareness and advocacy activities; Enhance public trust and transparency towards the justice sector through systematic court monitoring; Strengthen cooperation between CSO and relevant institutions through evidence-based advocacy and policy research on specific human right issues.
ACTIVITIES:
Increasing youth skills and employability in the justice sector through innovative capacity building, essay competitions and internship programs; Deepening citizen knowledge on access to justice through innovative online app, grant scheme for local grassroots, and thematic lectures across universities; Increasing transparency, accountability and performance of RoL institutions through systematic court monitoring, evidence-based analysis, and data collection; Enhance institutional cooperation between the CSOs in combating social injustice, and improving citizen trust in the sector, through advocacy and awareness activities.
RESULTS:
Increased youth capacities through internship programs in the RoL sector, and regular capacity building; Improved citizen awareness on their rights on access to justice, fundamental human rights; Enchanced dialogue among CSO’s, state institutions and other relevant stakeholders; Increase awareness among citizens on the existing mechanisms for the protection of human rights; Increased performance and accountability of courts in handling cases involving vulnerable groups; Enforcement of current legislative framework, promotion of legal remedies through evidence-based research.
