OVERALL OBJECTIVE:
To contribute to consolidation of an enabling digital innovation ecosystem for start-ups with strengthen links with EU ecosystem
PROJECT PURPOSES:
STIKK’s STAR UP action intends to strengthen the Kosovo economy by supporting the structured growth of promising ICT sector to become more competitive and provide quality and innovative services and products not only to Kosovo market but also to EU and global markets. The action is designed to accelerate the enabling eco system for enhanced ICT sector export of products and services as well as strengthen their links with EU market. The action also supports the increase of the employment rate in Kosovo.
ACTIVITIES:
• Competitive and Public Selection of Tenants in the Tech Park • Individualized acceleration support based on the needs of start-ups. • Seed-funding for rapid growth start-ups. • Market linkages, matchmaking and B2B support for start-ups. • Support to Regional and International Networking. • Support access to EU markets. • Procurement and installation of ICT infrastructure and equipment • Capacity development for managing the export of services. • Developing joint products with other sectors
RESULTS:
• 25 start-ups accepted in the Accelerator/Tech Park • 25 start-ups receive acceleration support services and technical assistance • 10 grants of up to 10,000.00 EUR awarded to start-ups • Six (6) thematic national B2B and Networking events organized • Two (2) regional/international events organized with companies from the WB and beyond • 10 start-ups supported to participate in a major event at EU level • Technology and communication infrastructure in the Tech Park upgraded • 25 start-ups trained in international commerce and services export • Strengthen cross-sectorial partnership to include e-services integrated into traditional product lines
