OVERALL OBJECTIVE:

Overall Objective: Support Kosovo Government to improve quality standards in higher education, research capacities in Universities and transparency and accountability in Higher Education Institutions. Specific Objectives: Design and Construction of the new premises for the Faculty of Mathematics, Natural Sciences of the University of Pristina, which will create accessible, safe and environmentally friendly facilities for all, pursuant to European norms and standards.

RESULTS:

Result 1: Design of new premises for the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of the University of Pristina (with a total of 2,841 students) which will address gender and cultural considerations and will have an inclusive perspective by ensuring a safe and gender friendly environment for students, teaching staff and all faculties employees. Result 2: The design of new premises will entail provision of specific affirmative actions to support female students/teachers and other employees by designing and creating breastfeeding/lactation facilities. Result 3: Construction of the new premises for the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (~12,800 sqm) which will improve infrastructure of the University of Pristina and provide safe and environmentally friendly facilities by reducing the students occupational classroom ratio by increasing the number of lecture group work rooms and constructing the appropriate premises/laboratories as per the curricula offered in the targeted faculties. Result 4. Construction of the new premises for the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences will include rehabilitation of the outdoor green area, as a public park for the benefit of communities (women, men, and youth elderly.) This additional intervention will contribute to promoting green and environmentally friendly infrastructure projects.
