OVERALL OBJECTIVE:

Construction of the Hydro-technical System: Desivojcë - Kremenatë - Gjyrishevc which aims to improve people’s quality of life and livelihood through the development of multi-purpose reservoirs.

PROJECT PURPOSES:

Preparation of Feasibility study for Construction of the Kremenata Dam in accordance with local legislation and IFI and EU standards.

ACTIVITIES:

- Revision of the project prepared in the 80’ including the calculation of cost - Revised demand for this water storage (population to be served, hectares to be irrigated, any planned industry to use the water from this system) - Hydrology assessment - Geological assessment - Design of auxiliary infrastructures in catchment and services - Plans to protect catchments - Cost benefit analysis - Tender dossier - ESIA for the project and mitigation plan.

RESULTS:

IDesign and tender dossier prepared for construction of new water reservoir which will serve for: - 41,300 urban or rural population using a safe drinking water supply - 30,000,000 litres of potable water produced, water for industry and water for irrigation purposes
