DIRECT BENEFICIARY:
Girls, boys and youth who are at risk of discrimination and exclusion due to their age, disability, sex, sexual orientation, origin and any other discrimination ground, across seven municipalities; Survivors / victims of gender-based violence (GBV) and domestic violence; formal (Centres for Social Work (CSW)) and non-formal (Licensed Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO)) service providers.

OVERALL OBJECTIVE:
To enhance the well-being and rights of girls, boys, women, victims/survivors of GBV and Domestic Violence, and children and youth with disabilities in seven targeted municipalities by improving Gender-Responsive Social Protection services provided by both formal and non-formal social service providers. Additionally, it aims to empower girls and boys most affected by inequality and discrimination within these municipalities; and by advocating with duty-bearers to ensure child rights are upheld.
PROJECT PURPOSES:
• Enhance the knowledge of formal and non-formal service providers on gender mainstreaming and child sensitive and gender responsive social protection. • Enhancing availability of and accessibility on social services for survivors / victims of GBV and domestic violence. • Increase awareness of government institutions and other duty bearers on cases of discrimination pertaining to marginalized groups, specifically children with disabilities, youth with disabilities, LGBTQI+, and gender non-conforming children. • Empowering adolescents regarding their self-image and confidence, their ability to communicate express themselves with a potential to develop photography as transferable skills for other purposes (advocacy, activism, livelihood).
ACTIVITIES:
Activities under Outcome 1: Formal and non-formal service providers have the capacity, knowledge and skills for gender mainstreaming and gender responsive, child-sensitive social protection: • Activity 1.1.1 - Gender Mainstreaming training for formal and non-formal social service providers; • Activity 1.1.2 - Gender-responsive, child-sensitive social protection training for formal and non-formal social service providers. Activities under Outcome 2: Girls, boys and women survivors of GBV and Domestic Violence report feeling supported, accepted and valued and have access to tailored social services. • Activity 2.1.1 - Financial and technical support to social service providers. Activities under Outcome 3: Children and youth have increased awareness, are empowered and engaged on children's rights, well-being, and LGBTQI+ issues, leading to improved policies and actions at both municipal and national levels. • Activity 3.1.1 - Workshop with Ombudsperson Institution; • Activity 3.1.2 - Advocacy meetings with government institutions, policy makers and duty bearers to address discrimination approaches in legislation and service provision; • Activity 3.2.1 - Photovoice participatory research with children and youth to explore identity and intersectionality; • Activity: 3.3.1 - Public forums with children and youth; • Activity: 3.3.2 - Analysis of data collected from the public forum to scale up the sample of Young Voices survey.
RESULTS:
Expected results: • More than 2,053 children and 5,303 adults will benefit from expanded professional and tailored social services through an increase in the capacity of service providers. • More than 78 children and 100 adults will benefit from financed, including safe sheltering, and tailored social services to their needs. • More than 250 children and youth will increase their awareness and are empowered to be actively engaged on child’s rights, well-being and LGBTQI+ issues, • At least 1 licensed NGO supported with sub-grant to provide social services for survivors/victims of GBV and / or domestic violence; • At least 47 licensed NGOs and 40 CSWs benefit from technical support tailored to institutional strengthening on gender mainstreaming.
